In today’s environment, there is one common thread for consumers shopping for a service online. Before making the first phone call, we type a keyword into our favorite search engine, and magically the algorithm spits out any number of results. From that point, for me, at least, further refinement criteria are based on location, cost, website presence, appearance, testimonials, and we can’t forget those tiny little gold stars. Personally, a five-star rating having 3000 reviews, boom that would be my go-to.
Shopping on Amazon for a pair of tube socks this could be a safe approach, albeit searching for a service that could potentially keep you from an injustice requires additional attention. For example, rather than merely comparing services, I study-up all available content on the web for not only a service provider but also my specific problem in hand. Additionally, for a function of this nature, while reviewing web content, I try to read between the lines and get a real sense of the firm’s core values.
For the law firm of Kilpatrick & Newlin, their website does not give them justice in any sense of the word. The site itself is both neat and informative; however, it fails to point out what I feel is most important, their core values. To save you from having to read between the lines in search of gaining a better understanding of their firm’s core values, I’ll take a brief moment to highlight based on the first-hand experience.
INTEGRITY
The first value that stuck out the most to me was the team’s integrity. Every question and exchange was systematic and consistently applied in both approach and intent. The process was not just for the quality of service but more of proven practice in tradecraft. The team worked together to ensure accuracy towards their plan, and every detail was collected to avoid oversight.
TRUST
Another essential core value experienced was trust. I knew within the first few minutes of my initial consultation that the firm was trustworthy because they didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear (concerning potential outcome). More importantly, they explained in great detail specific facts of the analysis, which led them to their conclusion. They over-delivered in the end, but realistic expectations were set throughout the process.
COMPASSION —- PATIENCE
For the final core values, I’ll name two, compassion and patience. Even though with their combined experience, they’ve dealt with my situation no less than a thousand times, they worked with me understanding it was my first. All my questions were thoroughly answered not only for expectation management but also due to their compassion.
In closing, if this were an Amazon review on a pair of tube socks, I would ask you to stop reading and add them to your cart “now!”. Given the nature of this particular service, I wanted to give it the justice deserved and save you from entering “core values” in your fancy search engine.
